Earthquake

I'm sure most of you have heard that we had a huge earthquake last night. It was felt all over the country--that's BIG!

I definitely felt it and, for a few minutes, pictures swayed on the wall and free-hanging things swung, but we had no damage or injuries in our neck of the woods. The electric flashed off and on a couple of times, but we never lost power like the neighbors across the river behind us and many others around the country.

All is well at my house.

That was pretty serious wasn't it. It went on and on over here. Good that we fly with christmas to Wellington because the road is completely destroyed

An earthquake in New Zealand that must have been a strange sensation. Glad to hear you are safe in your neck of the woods.

Glad things are ok with you. I've been in many of the big earthquakes in California and the Good Friday earthquake in Alaska in 1964 - they are terrifying at best. Take care.

I forgot where in NZ you are living, my sister is in Auckland and they didn't feel the quake there.

Regarding your comment on my blogpost saying "autumn flowers has its share of beauty", I would like to inform you that in our country and other countries in this part of the world we do not have Autumn. I have always been discussing that in my posts. These flowers exhibit the end of our dry season. We only have the rainy and dry seasons. Thanks for the visit.

Betty, first of all, thank you for letting me know you are all okay. Do you have earthquakes frequently? In all my years in CT, we've felt a tremble once ...:)JP

Glad to read that all is well with you. A current follow up story to the earthquake, crossing the Canadian news feed is the one about the cows stuck on a dirt island. We are all rooting for a happy rescue. Be well & thank you so much for visiting my blog, always happy to see you there.

I am glad that you are okay and nothing has happened in your area. However, it's really scary with sea-floor coming up to the surface and seal sanctuary being destroyed.

I'm happy to hear you are fine. My son sent pictures how the coastline changed where he dived in 2009. With my best wishes for you and your family
