Quaint courthouse
This is the courthouse in Hawera. On 'court day' the doorway and open area are filled with people milling around and smoking.
The cage on the left is big enough for a van to drive into and lock for those transported from the jail.
What a beautiful building. WOnder how that worked when the accused is behind the fence and the accuser passes by
ReplyDeleteThis is quaint -- and old! I like the detail and colors....the cage is sobering, however. (as it should be)
ReplyDeleteI love these "old" buildings. The big weatherboards. And the Pacific detailings on the roof. What a great piece of history.
ReplyDeleteLove old nz buildings, great shot!
