A little help, please

This guy and several of his siblings are climbing all over one wall of our house to find a place to become a chrysalis to hang out on the side of the house.

I think it might be for a white butterfly, but that's just a guess. Does anybody else have any idea what this is the caterpillar for?

**EDIT**  I should have asked Hubby in the first place, as he's the one who found a definitive answer for me--thanks, Hubby!!!

This is the caterpillar for a kowhai (ko-fie) moth  http://www.landcareresearch.co.nz/research/biosystematics/invertebrates/invertid/bug_details.asp?Bu_ID=127

A the hungry catterpillar. I love butterflies and often forget how they start out

I cannot be sure, of course, but we have a caterpillar that looks similar and also makes its chrysalis on our facebrick walls. I don't know what the butterfly that emerges looks like, as I've not seen one exiting it's shell...but the white butterfly is an exotic here in SA and is causing lots of damage apparently. We are asked to take action against them (I admit I don't). I trust the birds, frogs, ghekos and spiders to deal with them.

Have no clue what the caterpillar is. But it looks like autumn to me when caterpillars are looking for places to to mature.

Can't wait to hear what it turns out to be.

From the research I've done and asking online, it seems to be a cabbage moth caterpillar. If I find out differently, I will be sure to post it!
