Bad blogger

In case you have commented on this blog lately, I thank you and hope the comments section will eventually re-appear on my dashboard.

When Blogger re-instated the email notification (temporarily, it seems) for comments, the comment section disappeared along with the number of comments for each post.

Hopefully, this will be fixed soon, so please stop by again in a while :)

Pemberton Corner and area

We came across the following two signs close together and, of course, I was immediately interested in why they were there.

It seems that six Pemberton brothers were the first to settle the Pemberton-Rangiwahia area in 1885 and in seven years it went from a campsite to a town center, with lumber being the main source of income. It slowly became a ghost town, with the Post Office closing in 1924.

This old dairy building was a few meters down the road.
