I am contacted now and then by Americans wanting to know about New Zealand but I was surprised when a fellow New Zealand blogger let me know she was coming up my way and wanted to meet. Marja from the blog Dutchcorner, along with her hubby and brother, met Hubby and me at Pukekura Park. It was fun to meet in person someone whose blog I have been reading for a long time!
Of course, we had to take a picture. Marja on the left, me on the right.
When the lights came on, we walked around a little until Hubby's allergies kicked in big time!
I was very impressed with the lights on Poet's Bridge.
Here's to another year of blogging! Cheers!

Always fun to meet a fellow blogger. Happy New Year!
Such a pretty park- love the lights! Christmas tree lights is one thing my hubby learned to enjoy. We would do like the couple did at the end of "Christmas Story" sit in the dark and soak in the feelings that lights sparked in us.
What fun - and great photos. Happy New Year!
Its always fun meeting a blogger in real life. Its a bit like meeting an old friend. I too have met Marja when we visited NZ last Year. She is so friendly and lots of fun. The park and gardens look lovely.

Hi Betty Cool photos It was great to meet you two and I think that is such a great part of blogging. Getting to know other bloggers. Thank you for meeting us and for the good time :) Happy New Year!
Great
Hi there in Kiwi land... I found you on commenting an American blog and ended up here! Lovely photos. Lovely life path that took you to NZ. I lived in NZ on and off between 1996 and 2000. I was in Kerikeri at the turn of the millenium. I was a resident of New Caledonia then, now in France. I do miss it :-)
That must have been a great meeting. Thank you for sharing.

That's wonderful! What a treat.
We're watching tennis in Australia and having fun IDing a bird. I think, pied butcherbirds!

Glad to see you and Marja in real photos! It is my first time to see you too, and i also read Marja's posts. It really is amazing how plant lovers wanted to meet each other even from other parts of the world. I have also met 2 bloggers from Japan and the Netherlands, the latter now living in Moldova. They scuba dived in our place and we met and talked for sometime. Now they are still blogger friends, and hopefully real personal friends.
How sweet of your husband and what a lovely park. Really liked the bridge!
