Colville tennis court

When I first arrived in New Zealand in 2006, Hubby took me on a whirlwind tour of the North Island over the first four weeks I was here.

One of the places he took me was Colville on the Coromandel Peninsula.
We parked across the street from the General Store, next to the tennis court and I noticed that they were raising money for a new court.

Now, I don't know about you, but when I see signs like this, I do wonder now and then if they ever got enough money to do what they wanted.

Fast forward to earlier this year when we decided it was time to go back for our holiday.
The first thing I looked for was the tennis court...

I was very pleasantly surprised to see that they had succeeded in getting a new court or two!

That was a neat idea to go back and check it out. Glad they managed to raise the funds.

Enjoyed visiting your blog, Betty. Thank you for coming to mine. I am a transplant in US from England, so I know how difficult it can be to take such a big step. Glad the fund-raising initiative was successful. P. x

It's so nice to see a community come together and get things done.
