A little senior humor

Yesterday, my daughter asked me again why I don't do "something useful" with my time. Talking about me "doing something useful" seems to be her favorite topic of conversation lately. She was only "thinking of me" she said and suggested that I go down to the senior center and hang out with the guys. I did this and when I got home last night, I decided to teach her a lesson about staying out of my business. I told her I had joined a parachute club.

She said, "Are you nuts? You're almost 72 years old and you're going to start jumping out of airplanes?"

I proudly showed her that I even got a membership card and she said to me, "Good grief, Dad! Where are your glasses? This is a membership to a Prostitute Club, not a Parachute Club!"

"Oh, no!" I said as I pretended to be shocked."I don't know what to do about this...I signed up for five jumps a week."

She fainted.

Life as a senior citizen is not getting any easier but sometimes it can be fun.

Thanks for the chuckle! I started reading this thinking it was you writing it and then wondering if you had had a sex operation . . .

Now that made me smile. My Mum is 80 years old. She has her own stuff she does and we (she has six kids myself included) do not tell our mother how to live her life. Indeed you go girl! Live it as you want to live no how anyone says you should. Age is in the mind we are only as old as we feel for sure.

Very funny, Betty!

At 55, I've already decided that what I do with my life is my choice. I'm slowly, but surely, getting away from the feeling of always being obligated to something or somebody. I don't want to be a hermit (and I can't with a husband and 3 kids!) but it's nice to fulfill personal desires. By the time I'm 72, my daughters will think I'm nuts, too. :)

I loved this! Every time my daughters see me I'm on the computer so they leave me alone.

Hi Betty,
I'm so glad you stopped by. You are a brave soul to move so far away from home. From Kansas to New Zealand is one long trip. I moved to Hawaii from California and I thought that was far.
thanks for your kind comments, my new friend.
Blessings,
Carolynn
