It's Easter weekend....

Here in New Zealand, public holidays mean that there are no advertisements on tv all day long.
That sounds like it would be wonderful, but it's not all that.

We end up with lots of silly movies that 'star' people I've never heard of or, in some cases, whole seasons of a program back to back.

But, at least, I don't have to listen to ads for things that I have no intention of buying.

That's a concept unknown in the US - no ads, but since we don't have a TV I guess we are "no ads" all the time. Enjoy your holiday weekend.

Interesting, they should do this too in Holland, I hate all the adverts. Anyway, I don't watch much tv, just the news and then I often turn it off.
Have a nice weekend,
Janneke

Would love that concept of no ads to catch on here in the states.
I like a show called Brokenwood filmed in New Zealand. love the scenery and accents. Thank you for visiting my blog and Happy Easter.

I like commercials because they allow you to get up and do things.
I can't imagine there being no commercials all day.

You've got me thinking I'm pretty sure have adverts always in Australia! Hope you found a half decent movie to watch! Happy Easter Monday from South Korea where there are no eggs in sight!

I LOVE this idea except we have already given up on TV...haven't watched it in about 5 years. Seriously, the ads drive me crazy. What I really wish we could have is one whole day without telemarketers calling our phone. ALL DAY LONG IT RINGS! Just one day, just one day...if only it was possible.
