hairy hot dogs!

Hubby found this recipe on the internet somewhere and the kids loved making their own!

You just stick uncooked spaghetti through hot dogs (they are 'frankfurters' here) and boil them until the spaghetti is cooked. This is what the process looks like:

Here is one of Otterboy's 'mohawk' hairy hot dogs!

Here is one of Missy's hairy hot dog masterpieces!

They were fun to eat!

What a neat idea! I can't help but wonder how this inspiration came about. I'll have to look around and see what all I can poke with spaghetti!

Kinda fun, but freaky too... looks to me like the maggots have got to the hotdog - urgh, sorry but I'll have to pass on them as my mind just can't quite compute along the 'appetizing' front - but I bet my children would find them delightful!

Wooooooo---I've eaten hot dogs lots of ways but never seen this done. That would be fun to do with the grandkids....

I've always like a good hot dog every once in awhile. I like mine with chili and cheese and of course mustard and onions. YUM....

Hugs,
Betsy

My daughter and I were fascinated with the spaghetti in the hot dogs.
What would you serve them with? I am always ready to trick my 3 yr grandson into eating. LOL

Thanks for all the comments, fellow bloggers! If you google 'hairy hot dogs' it appears they originated in Russia!

To serve them, just ignore the spaghetti and serve like a regular hot dog. I prefer mustard and onions, like Betsy!

What a child-friendly recipe! I like re-writing recipes in verse. May I? You'd be acknowledged, of course.
