I got kind of sucked into that bottled water thing for a while -- it's very convenient. But now we use metal bottles that we refill from the tap (we have a filter) and I seldom have to buy one. The price is outragaeous and always has been -- for that matter the price of soda is too.
Rum? Not sure about that pricewise (but you wouldn't want to know me if I swigged on that all day ;>))

I often find healthier items are more expensive then the fake stuff.

I'd picked water, been staying away from Soda. Although the bottled water are so pricey, they are so handy when you out on long hikes.
